Our goal is to create and maintain a beautiful, historic nature trail that we can share with our community. We believe that spending time in nature is essential for mental and physical wellbeing, and we strive to make it accessible to as many people as possible.
The National Pike Trail Council has spent over 30 years raising money and developing a three mile stretch of abandoned CSX railroad bed in Claysville, PA. The original rail line and tunnels, between Washington, PA. and Wheeling, WV., were constructed by the Hempfield Railroad between 1851 -1857.
The Claysville National Pike Trail is passionate about the outdoors and sharing that passion with others. Our team of volunteers is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone who visits the trail.
