How long is the trail?

The trail is a two mile out and back trail, for a total of four miles.

How old are the tunnels?

The tunnels were built by the Hempfield Rail Road between 1851 and 1857.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, we just ask that you pick up after them and there are dog waste stations along the trail.

Is the trail open all year?

Unfortunately, no. Due to ice build up in the tunnels we have to close them in the winter for safety.
